AboutEducation Plus Tuition

A different kind of tuition

Tuition should begin with the learner, not with a fixed programme.

“Every learner has a next step.”
EYFS · KS1 · KS2 · KS3 · KS4GCSEs & resits
Begin with the learner

We start by understanding what a learner knows, where confidence is secure, where misconceptions sit and what should happen next.

Education-led

Shaped by classroom teaching, senior leadership, subject leadership, safeguarding, assessment, intervention and private tuition.

Built through recommendation

Much of our work comes through word of mouth and personal recommendation rather than formal advertising.

We do not begin with a predetermined sequence of worksheets and expect every learner to follow the same route. The aim is to identify the right support, the right challenge and the right next step for that individual learner.
Education Plus Tuition supports learners across EYFS and Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, including primary and secondary English and Mathematics, 11+ preparation, GCSE preparation and GCSE Mathematics or English resits.
Learner wellbeing and safety are central to the tuition environment. Safeguarding, relevant medical or dietary information and individual needs are taken seriously and handled appropriately.
Preparation can include reviewing previous learning, analysing assessment information, selecting or creating resources, identifying misconceptions, planning explanations, and reviewing what should happen next. The work has to tell us something.
Parents and carers know the learner extremely well. Where appropriate, we explain findings and next steps clearly. With parental permission, and where a school is willing and able to engage, we can also communicate with school staff. That contact is never automatic.
Digital tools can help us organise evidence, identify patterns and communicate clearly, but they do not replace professional judgement, explanation, patience, encouragement or relationships.
Expert Tuition. Personal Progress.
EP Precision Progress™

We don’t guess what a learner needs. We find out.

Each learner can develop an individual EP Progress Pathway™ — a live, personalised picture of the important next steps in their learning.

1
Assess

Establish the learner’s starting point using appropriate assessment, observation, discussion and existing evidence.

2
Understand

Look beyond the overall score: strengths, gaps, misconceptions, confidence, independence, pace and method.

3
Target

Decide what matters most and organise the next steps into a purposeful sequence.

4
Teach

Provide carefully targeted explanation, modelling, guided practice and independent application.

5
Adapt

If the evidence changes, the teaching changes. The plan moves with the learner.

6
Progress

Secure understanding, build confidence and help the learner move forward with increasing independence.

Assess. Understand. Target. Teach. Adapt. Progress.
Fees

Simple weekly tuition

A regular weekly place is reserved specifically for the learner.

£40 per session

Each standard tuition session is 60 minutes.

Minimum one session weekly

Regular tuition is weekly rather than fortnightly. Additional sessions can be arranged where availability allows.

Paid in advance

Each upcoming session should be paid before it takes place.

Session preparation, learning materials and post-session review are included. Good tuition involves thinking before the lesson, during it and afterwards.
Regular tuition normally continues during school holidays, including half terms and the Easter and Christmas periods. The regular weekly place remains reserved and chargeable unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance. Where possible, we will be flexible around family plans.

Clear, practical arrangements

These arrangements help keep regular weekly places consistent while allowing reasonable flexibility where possible.

Tuition is arranged on a weekly basis, with a minimum commitment of one £40 session each week. Your regular appointment time is reserved specifically for your learner.
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice where possible. With sufficient notice, we will try to arrange an alternative time subject to availability. With less than 48 hours’ notice, or for an unattended session, the session normally remains chargeable.
We understand that unexpected circumstances happen. Genuine emergencies can be considered reasonably and with discretion.
If we need to cancel a session, it will be rearranged or the payment will be credited as appropriate.
Regular weekly tuition normally continues through school holidays. The regular place remains reserved and the usual weekly fee continues unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.
Please tell us about any relevant medical conditions, dietary needs or other information we should reasonably be aware of in order to support the learner safely and appropriately.
Alternative times or online sessions may sometimes be available by prior arrangement.
